ANTHOLOGICAL EXHIBITION OFFERING A COMPREHENSIVE AND CONTEMPORARY VIEW OF HIS ARTISTIC PATH

The 2026 solo exhibition promoted by the Municipality of Padua at Galleria Cavour, scheduled from June 6 to July 5, 2026, presents a selection of approximately 40 works chosen from the artist’s extensive production.

The exhibition project is conceived as a coherent journey through the different expressive forms employed by the artist, from Simone Berno’s material production, in which time, oxidation, and the transformation of matter become narrative elements, to graphic production: from early drawings with surrealist and cubist roots to the cycles S/HE Generation, X-Silhouette, and Viola Bianco, three artistic alter egos attributable to Berno.

The journey continues with Poetic Hotel, which represents a point of convergence among all the artist’s expressive forms and virtually unites the oxidations generated by time in his material works with the stylistic signature of his performances, integrating within it works and graphics of a surreal and dreamlike character created directly in the rooms.

The exhibition conveys the author’s artistic growth and, at the same time, offers a snapshot of his current state of practice.

Through the works on display, Berno constructs a narrative that intertwines poetry and contemporary society, observing its fragilities, contradictions, and stratifications, without separating individual experience from collective experience.

The title of the exhibition is “OXIDUM.”

The exhibition will be a moment of encounter and exchange between the works on display, the artist, and the collaborators and friends who, over the years, have shared parts of his creative journey.

During the month of the exhibition, the gallery will be open morning and afternoon throughout the week, except on Mondays and Tuesday mornings.

Meetings and special events are planned, with dedicated evenings and opportunities for dialogue and discussion.

The bookshop will present two volumes:
the official exhibition catalogue and the book “Let the Light Pass”, set inside the Poetic Hotel.

“The volume recounts a glimpse of life in the 1990s, in the months preceding the hotel’s closure, and at the same time the process of discovering the place by Berno and the artists who took part in setting up the installation.”
